Men's Hockey taken down by Blue Devils

(Canton, MI) Concordia Men's Hockey took to their home ice Saturday for a WHAC contest against Lawrence Tech. After taking down the Blue Devils on Friday night, the Cardinals came up short on Saturday, falling 6-2. 



Lawrence Tech jumped out to an early lead when Charlie Ward found the back of the net just over two minutes into the game. The Cardinals were then able to successfully kill a penalty before Charlie Ward scored his second of the night to put the Blue Devils up a pair going into the first intermission. 



The Blue Devils increased their lead to three halfway through the second period when Brednan Preiss scored a breakaway shorthanded goal. Kyle Hebner put Concordia on the board when he netted Zane Rydel's pass during a four on four sequence in the second period. 



Five minutes into the final period Lawrence Tech added on another goal to increase their lead. Quinn Bieniek was able to squeeze one by the Blue Devils goaltender with six minutes remaining off of assists from Jackson Blough and Brandon Troyer. Lawrence Tech responded back with a pair of goals to seal the game late, with the final one being a power play. 




Next up for the Cardinals will be an away game at Cleary on Friday, October 20th. Puck drop is set for 7:30 at the 140 Ice Den.
