Men's Hockey topped on the road by Aquinas

(Grand Rapids, MI) Concordia Men's Hockey traveled to Aquinas Saturday evening for the second half of the weekend series. The Cardinals went back and forth with the Saints to start the game, but a big second period from Aquinas solidified their 5-3 win.

Anthony Seykora started in goal for Concordia, and stopped 39 shots. Sam Sahr, Nicholas Twombley, and Carson Ediger each scored a goal in the contest for the Cardinals.

Aquinas opened up the scoring with a goal just over four minutes into the game. The Cardinals had three power play chances in the opening period, but were unable to convert on them. Instead, when they were at even strength Sam Sahr was able to tie up the game for the Cardinals. Just before the end of the first period, Aquinas sneaked in a goal to take a lead into the first intermission.

Nicholas Twombley knotted the game up at 2-2 just under four minutes into the second. Aquinas responded with three goals of their own to take a commanding lead. Carson Ediger scored the lone goal of the final period, but it proved to be too little, too late as Aquinas ultimately came away on top, 5-3.

The Cardinals will next be in action Friday, December 1st when they face off against UM-Dearborn on the road. Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
