Men's Hockey falls to Lawrence Tech

(Canton, MI) – Concordia men's hockey hosted Lawrence Tech on Friday night to start a weekend series. The Cardinals cut a 2-0 deficit in half with an extra attacker in the third period, but LTU took the 3-1 win.

 

Zachary Janis played a full game in the net with 30 saves. Defense dominated the first period with the Cardinals' best chance coming on a shot by Brandon Troyer in front of the net. The game was tied 0-0 after the first.

Lawrence Tech opened the scoring with a goal in the second period. Both teams had powerplay chances late but CUAA trailed 1-0 after two periods.

LTU extended their lead with a goal in the third period. After earning a late power play opportunity, the Cardinals pulled the goalie for an extra attacker. Zane RydeI sent a feed from behind the net to Tyler Bieniek who buried a shot in the goal. However, LTU was able to score an empty-net marker to seal the 3-1 win.

 

Concordia will travel to Lawrence Tech tomorrow at 5 pm.
