Men's Hockey makes late push but falls 4-3 to #18 Indiana Tech

(Fort Wayne, IN) – Concordia men's hockey traveled to Indiana Tech to wrap up the last game of the weekend series. After falling behind 4-0 the Cardinals nearly erased their entire deficit, but the Warriors held on for a 4-3 win.

 

Anthony Seykora played a full game in net, making 30 saves. The first period saw no scoring by either team with Indiana Tech winning the shots battle 11-9.

The second period saw an explosion of offense and penalties. Indiana Tech scored four unanswered goals to surge ahead in the contest. The Cardinals got on the board when Kyle Hebner stole the puck along the end boards and flipped a pass to McCarthy Clark for a one-timer goal. Nicholas Twombley then scored a powerplay goal on the breakaway with Chase Temple assisting. CUAA trailed 4-2 after the second period.

In the third period, McCarthy Clark scored his second goal by tapping the puck in after a weird bounce on a Seth Francois shot. The Cardinals continued to put pressure on the Warriors late in the game, but Indiana Tech held on for a 4-3 win.

 

Concordia will host Cleary this Thursday, February 1 at 3:30pm.
