Football's Karry wins MSFA and NCCAA Player of the Week; Seeger DeGayner wins NCCAA Offensive Player of the Week

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) and the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Mid-East announced their weekly Player of the Week honors and Concordia Cardinals Seeger DeGayner and Liam Karry took home this week's honors. DeGayner took home NCCAA Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Karry earned MSFA and NCCAA honors. 

 

 

Karry, a sophomore from New Baltimore, Michigan, took home the first honors of his career after recording a career-high 19 total tackles in the game. Karry would tack on .5 sacks and two tackles for losses. He also recovered a fumble in the fourth quarter of the game. The 19 tackles are tied for the fifth most in a single Cardinal game. 

 

 

DeGayner, a senior from Grand Blanc, Michigan, earned honors this week following a 119-receiving-yard performance that included a 17-yard touchdown catch. Later in the game, he added a 16-yard touchdown pass to Logan Hay, that would wind up tying the game at 21. 

 

DeGayner has won NCCAA honors for the first time in his career. He has also previously won conference Player of the Week honors four times. 

 

The Football team returns home on Saturday, September 16, for a matchup against MSFA Mid-West opponent Judson with the game beginning at 1 PM.
