Men's Basketball defeated by Warriors

(Rochester, MI) – Concordia men's basketball went on the road to Rochester on Saturday afternoon in WHAC play. The Cardinals came into the contest needing a win to remain eligible for the WHAC conference playoffs. While CUAA battled hard, Rochester came away with the 71-39 win.

Devyn Jones led the team with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Colton Ritsema came in second with 8 points.

 

Colton Ritsema opened scoring with a jumper. Devyn Jones made two free throws and Ritsema scored inside. Both players continued to pace the offense with more free throws from Jones and a 3-pointer from Ritsema. Zac Clark hit a jumper to put Concordia up 16-13 at the midway point of the half.

Rochester used a 17-0 run to surge ahead in the half. Jayden Priddy ended the run with a layup but CUAA trailed 38-18 at halftime.

 

Devyn Jones had Concordia's first second-half basket with a layup. Evan Neff chipped in a 3-pointer and a jumpshot. Kip French and Nate Brighton got on the scoresheet with free throws and Henry Knapp made a layup. D'Angelo Stoxstill and Brighton added baskets down the stretch but Rochester came away with the win.

 

Concordia will return home this Wednesday, February 16 to host UNOH at 7:30pm.
