Zavion McClendon earns WHAC and NCCAA Basketball Player of the Week

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their weekly Players of the Week for Men's Basketball and Concordia Cardinals Zavion McClendon earned the first WHAC honors of his Cardinal career. 

 

 

McClendon, a junior from Detroit, Michigan, helped the team to a 1-1 overall record and a 1-0 record to start the WHAC season in the win against Lawrence Tech. McClendon averaged 26.5 points in the two games this week, with a high game of 28 against Spring Arbor. 

 

He shot 53% from the field this week, including 50% with ten made three-pointers. In both games, he narrowly missed out on a double-double as he pulled down nine rebounds in both matches. He added two steals on the week. 

 

The Cardinals will be back in action on Saturday, November 18, when they will host Rochester in another WHAC battle that will tip off at 3 PM.
