Men's Basketball falls to Indiana Tech

(Ann Arbor, MI) – Concordia men's basketball hosted Indiana Tech for a WHAC matchup on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals outscored the Warriors by 4 points in the second half, but the team could not overcome a first-half deficit in a 76-61 defeat.

Dylan Jergens led the team with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Zavion McClendon was second with 16 points. Devyn Jones was third with 14 points.

 

Devyn Jones made a pair of 3-pointers and a layup to score Concordia's first 8 points. Zavion McClendon drove to the hoop and Jones continued to have the hot hand with free throws and another triple. Dylan Jergens notched a layup and a triple to get on the scoresheet, but Indiana Tech began to pull ahead with a 26-20 lead at the midway point.

Dylan Jergens scored a basket and Evan Neff made an offensive putback to keep the offense going. Zavion McClendon made two free throws and Joey Garwood scored inside, but CUAA trailed 47-28 at halftime.

 

Zavion McClendon had a 3-pointer for Concordia's first second-half basket. Dylan Jergens made a layup and two free throws and Zavion McClendon made a drive. Joey Garwood knocked down a triple and Jergens made another layup, but CUAA trailed 60-43 at the midway point.

Zavion McClendon made two free throws and a 3-pointer as the Cardinals looked to rally. Joey Garwood hit a triple and Dylan Jergens added two more baskets. Zavion McClendon had two more free throws and Blake Liddell notched a layup in the final minute. However, Indiana Tech maintained their lead and took the win as time expired.

 

Concordia will remain at home to host rival Siena Heights this Wednesday at 7:30pm.
