WHAC ALL-CONFERNCE AWARDS: Two Cardinals earn All-WHAC honors

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced its yearly postseason awards on Friday morning for Men's Basketball. Several Concordia Cardinals student-athletes earned recognition this season following the conclusion of the regular season. 

 


SECOND TEAM

 

 

ZAVION MCCLENDON | JR | DETROIT, MICHIGAN

In his first season in a Cardinal uniform, McClendon earned the honor after posting the third-most points per game this season as he averaged 18.2. In addition, he pulled down 5.8 rebounds per game as well as dishing out 1.2 assists a game. His 5.8 rebounds a game tied for 15th-most in the WHAC. 

 


ALL-FRESHMAN TEAM

 

 

JOEY GARWOOD | FR | ELKHART, INDIANA

The freshman recorded the second-most points per game this season among freshmen in the conference with a 13.3 average per game. Garwood led the team in three-point shooting this season with 67 made threes on the year which gave him a 43.5% from distance which was second-best in the WHAC this season.  

 


CHAMPION OF CHARACTER

Matt Kohler was recognized as the team's WHAC Champion of Character. The senior was honored for his commitment to the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

 


ALL-ACADEMIC

The WHAC announced their All-Academic teams, which involve being a junior in Academic standing and having a cumulative GPA of 3.25. Six Cardinals were named to the team which included Nate Brighton, Mason Canfield, Jason Jergens, Devyn Jones, Matt Kohler, Jack Macleod.
