Men's Golf opens up Spring Season at the Heritage Hills Collegiate

(Shepherdsville, KY) - The Concordia Cardinals Men's Golf traveled to Kentucky for their first match of the spring season. The Cardinals would compete at the Heritage Hills Collegiate in an event that was hosted by Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) member as Lawrence Tech University would be the host. The Cardinals would take home an 11th-place finish at the event. 

 

CUAA RESULTS

Chase Temple, who played in his first match as a Cardinal, recorded the best score for the Cardinals with a three-round score of 239, which included a score of 73 in the final round. Andrew Sweitzer, another first-matcher for CUAA, was the next finisher with a score of 252 and a low of 81. 

 

Zachary Schroeder finished third on the team with a score of 260. Joshua Line and Neil Heinlein were the final two golfers for Concordia as they posted scores of 262 and 263 respectively. 

 

ENTERING THE RECORD BOOKS

Temple made it into the record books in two different sections with a 1-round score of 73, which is the second-best score posted by a Cardinal in program history. His three-round total of 239 is also the 6th lowest score in program history.

 

With their team score of 1,011 that marked the 5th-lowest total in program history. 

 

TOURNAMENT RECAP

Lawrence Tech took the team championship with a score of 860 which was 4-under par for the weekend. Liam McEvoy was the individual champion with a score of 208 throughout the three rounds played as he was eight-under for the tournament. 

 

NEXT UP

The Cardinals will take part in the Purgatory Invitational in Noblesville, Indiana on Friday, March 31, and April 1 later this week.
