Sam Saje picks up WHAC Defensive Player of the Week honor

(Ann Arbor, MI) – The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference announced their Men's Lacrosse player of the week awards on Monday afternoon. This week, Sam Sage of men's lacrosse earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts in the team's win against (RV) Columbia. 

 

Saje, a junior, picked up 16 ground balls in the comeback effort and he also forced two turnovers. The faceoff specialist won 83.3% of his faceoffs and also scored a goal in the win.

 

This is the second time that Saje has won the award in career, winning his first WHAC Defensive Player of the Week award during the 2021 season.

 

Saje joins Sam Bowling (2x), Evan Stuart, Ross Preston, and Cross Papadelis as Cardinal player of the week honorees this season.

 

The Cardinals will be on the road this Saturday taking on #2 Indiana Tech at 4 PM.
