Men's Lacrosse edges out #8 Indiana Tech 11-10

(Ann Arbor, MI) - Concordia men's lacrosse hosted #8 Indiana Tech on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals battled their way back from an early deficit and claimed an 11-10 victory.

 

Indiana Tech scored three straight goals to begin the game. Andrew Simmons got the Cardinals on the board with an assist by Spencer Guppy. CUAA trailed 3-1 after the first quarter.

The second quarter showed an explosion of offense for both teams. Spencer Guppy found the back of the net with Hunter McCarty assisting. After trailing 6-2 Evan Stuart started a 3-0 run with another helper from McCarty. Andrew Simmons scored just six seconds later with Sam Saje assisting. Ivan Progar finished the run with an unassisted goal. Travis Wright tallied on a powerplay and Cooper Regimbal notched a game-tying goal to knot the score 7-7 going into halftime.

 

Cooper Regimbal picked up his second goal of the game to give the Cardinals their first lead at the start of the third quarter. Spencer Guppy notched his second marker and CUAA led 9-8 at the end of the third quarter.

The Cardinals used an array of quick passes to start the fourth quarter, giving Cooper Regimbal his hat trick with Andrew Simmons assisting. Indiana Tech countered with a goal, but Andrew Simmons responded with a quick shot off an Ivan Progar assist. The Warriors scored again to cut the Cardinal lead to one goal. The CUAA defense held strong in the final minutes of the game to secure the 11-10 victory.

 

Concordia will travel to Lawrence Tech this Wednesday March 27th for a 6pm game
