Men's Soccer 2021 season ends with 5-1 loss to Saints

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Concordia University men's soccer team ended their 2021 season on the road as they traveled to Aquinas College for the final game of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference season.

 

The Cardinals entered the match at 2-14 and 0-9 in WHAC play. While the Saints came in at 5-5-3 and 5-2-2 in WHAC play. 

 

The Saints struck twice in the first six minutes of the game before Bryce Schaner was able to get one back for the Cardinals only seconds later. Ignacio Garcia tallied an assist on the Bryce Schaner goal. That was all the scoring until the 36th minute when the Saints would pick up another.

 

The second half saw the first goal in the 62nd minute to make it 4-1. The final goal of the match came in the 88th minute which would mark the fifth goal. 

 

Cardinal goalie Kyri Wixom would tally six saves in the afternoon. 

 

With the loss the Cardinals 2021 season officially comes to an end as they will look to reload and prepare throughout the offseason and get ready for Fall 2022.
