Men's Soccer downed at Rochester

(Washington, MI) – Concordia men's soccer traveled to Rochester for a WHAC contest on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals battled hard but fell by a final score of 3-1.

 

Dario Cela played a complete game in goal with 2 saves. Rochester struck first on a penalty kick in the 8th minute to open scoring. Evan Lock had the team's first shot on net with a header and the Cardinals continued to fire shots towards the net, but the team trailed 1-0 at halftime.

Rochester added two more goals early in the second half. The Cardinals kept battling and broke the shutout in the 76th minute when Mitchell Kirn scored with an assist by Carter Kerbawy. Angel Elizondo and Bryce Schaner fired shots that were blocked by Rochester's defense as the team looked to come back. However, Rochester took the 3-1 win as time expired.

 

Concordia will head on the road to UNOH this Wednesday at 3pm.
