(Ann Arbor, MI) – The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced the Player's of the Week for Men's Outdoor Track & Field and Scott Smith, a Cardinal's Track & Field member, took home the award for this week. 

Smith, a junior from Saginaw, Michigan, competed in a pair of events at the Polar Bear Invitational as he threw in the Javelin event and the Shot Put. In the Javelin, Smith threw 49.68 meters, an NCCAA qualifying mark, and was good enough for a third-place finish. His second event of Shot Put saw Smith place 26th after throwing a toss of 11.09 meters. 

This is the second time in Smith's career that he has taken home WHAC Player of the Week after earning on last Outdoor season as well. 

The Track and Field team is off until April 6 when they travel to Spring Arbor for the Bill Bippes Cougar Classic.
