McAlinden takes home WHAC and NCCAA Player of the Week honors

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their weekly Player of the Week winners for softball. Concordia Cardinals Shannon McAlinden was awarded the honors following the team going 5-1 on the week. 

 

 

McAlinden, a junior from Riverview, Michigan, recorded 10 hits on the week while hitting .556. In the Rochester series, she recorded three home runs, including two in the first game. She added two more extra-base hits on the week with a double and a triple. She brought in seven runs and stole five bases. 

 

McAlinden joins Madison Poe and Koryn Playford as WHAC Player of the Week honorees. She also earns her second NCCAA honor and is joined by Paige Anderson as NCCAA Player of the Week. 

 

The Cardinals are set to take on the Cornerstone Golden Eagles today with a doubleheader which begins at 3 PM. The Cardinals close out their season on Saturday, April 29, as they travel to Calumet for a doubleheader
