Tobias earns WHAC and NCCAA Player of the Week honors

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their weekly Player of the Week winners for softball. Concordia Katie Tobias was awarded the honors following the team closing their regular season by going 2-0. 

 

 

Tobias, a junior from Battle Creek, Michigan, had a solid final two games of the regular season as she led the team in hits, home runs, and RBIs with five, two, and five respectively. She recorded her first home run of the week in the fifth inning in game one against Cornerstone to put the Golden Eagles out of reach of a comeback, while game two's home run gave the Cardinals the lead early in the game. 

 

Tobias joins three other Cardinals who have taken home WHAC Honors also Shannon McAlinden, Madison Poe, and Koryn Playford that have won this season. She also earns her first NCCAA honor and is joined by McAlinden and Paige Anderson as NCCAA Player of the Week. 

 

The Cardinals are set to compete at the WHAC Tournament this week in Sylvania, Ohio. The Cardinals will take on UM-Dearborn in the first game of the tournament on Wednesday, May 3. The tournament is double-elimination.
