5 from Softball honored on CSC Academic All-District Team

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The College Sport Communicators (CSC) released their 2022-23 Academic All-District winners on Tuesday afternoon and five Concordia Cardinals were named CSC Academic All-District team members. 

 

The five Cardinals named to the CSC All-District team were Paige Anderson, Dee Campbell, Payton Lewis, Shannon McAlinden, and Koryn Playford

 

Paige Anderson is a sophomore from Davison, Michigan, and is studying Athletic Training and has a cumulative GPA of 3.72.

 

Dee Campbell is a senior from Charleston, Illinois. She is studying Biology and has a GPA of 3.97.

 

Payton Lewis is a sophomore from Vicksburg, Michigan is majoring in Elementary Education and has a GPA of 3.71.

 

Shannon McAlinden is a junior from Riverview, Michigan. She is studying Sport and Entertainment Business and has a cumulative GPA of 3.84.

 

Koryn Playford is a junior from Jonesville, Michigan. She is studying Elementary Education and has a GPA of 3.66.

 

The 2022-23 Academic All-District Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

 

College Sport Communicators is a 3,200+ member national association for strategic, creative, and digital communicators across intercollegiate athletics in the United States and Canada. The organization was previously known as College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and was changed to its new name in August of 2022.

 

Nominees for the All-District team must have participated in at least 50% of the team's matches throughout the season while also maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.50. The student-athlete must also complete one full calendar year at the institution and reach sophomore athletic eligibility in order to qualify for the honor.

 

Both Cardinals will now be placed on the ballot for CSC All-America consideration with those teams being released on June 6th.
