Earning the start in the game was Emilee Underwood. Underwood pitched the first five scoreless innings allowing three hits with three strikeouts.

Other than a hit in both the top and bottom of the first, neither team could get any offense going. The fourth saw Shannon McAlinden and Katie Tobias hit back-to-back singles and then Fatih Cramton brought them home on a double to left-center field for the 2-0 lead. CUAA picked up their third run of the day on a Payton Lewis single with Summer Brady scoring on the play.

The Pilots rallied in the sixth as they plated four runs to take a 4-3 lead in the game. Two Bethel singles plated three runs with the fourth coming on an error. The Pilot lead didn't last long as the Cards responded right away on a Sarah Tyrell single to plate Katie Tobias. After a 1-2-3 top of the seventh, Cassidy Kane got the Cardinals going with a single to right center. McAlinden would then bring Kane home with a double to deep left field for the walk-off win.

Two more pitchers combined for the final two innings as Elyse Brittain pitched 0.2 innings while Paige Anderson pitched the final 1.1 innings. Brittain allowed four runs (all unearned) on three hits as she struck out one batter. Anderson (5-3) did not allow a baserunner as she had a strikeout followed by two flyouts and a groundout.
