Softball eliminated by Cornerstone at WHAC Tournament

(Sylvania, OH) - Concordia softball competed on day two of the WHAC tournament on Thursday afternoon. The Cardinals faced off against #7 seed Cornerstone and fell 4-3 in a close game.

 

Paige Anderson started the game on the mound, notching 5 strikeouts in 3.1 innings. Cornerstone scored 2 runs in the top of the first inning. The Cardinals responded in the bottom half when Cassidy Kane reached home on an error.

 

CUAA tied the game in the second inning when Cassidy Kane hit an RBI single scoring Brooklin Cox. Cornerstone reclaimed the lead with 2 runs in the fourth inning. Emilee Underwood finished the fourth inning on the mound, going 3.2 innings with 1 strikeout.

 

Cassidy Kane continued her solid performance with an RBI single in the sixth inning to drive in Sarah Tyrrell and make it a one-run game. However, Cornerstone held on to secure the win.
