(Ann Arbor, MI) CUAA's STUNT competed in their season opener on Monday, February 19, 2024.
The first match saw CUAA against NAIA STUNT powerhouse Hope International. The Cards put out a limited routine game plan, playing full routines in one and two only. The final score was 0-19. "We enjoy playing top and seasoned teams," said Coach Kate Edge, "there is a lot to learn from watching them compete. We were proud to meet our goal of having an earlier season opener then we usually have. The team worked to have clean performances but the final execution tallies were not in our favor."
The second match of the night was vs St. Elizabeth University. The Cards fell 4-7. "This was a more evenly matched contest for us, and we just did not execute the way we should have," said Edge.
Xiomara Thurman was a stand-out athlete on the night. Competing in the most routines for both matches.
The Cards return to action for STUNT on February 25th playing matches at Davenport University.
