All-Girl Lands in 2nd Place at the Christian Cheerleaders of America Association College Championship

The Lady Cards traveled to North Carolina for the Christian Cheerleaders of America (CCA) annual College Cheer Championship. Competing in the All-Girl Advanced Division the Cardinals took second place with a score of 68.35.

The tournament includes two rounds of competition with 50% of each round's score applying to a final performance ranking. The Cards scored highest in their jumps, tosses, standing, and running tumbling. The results placed them just behind the defending division winners, Shepard University.

Reflecting on the inaugural season, Head Coach Kate Edge had this to share, "for our first year on the mat with an all-girl team, this has been a positive start. We have reached a lot of the goals we set and have implemented a foundation to build from. We appreciate the opportunity and support of our university to continue to grow and support our overall cheer program and sport."

In addition to the team event, there were individual events and contests, most notably the College Cheer Jump-off. Sophomore, Eunique Robinson, ended up beating out a final field of 4 competitors to take home the top honors.

"Eunique is a solid athlete and put out a level of jumps that we have not seen from here since arriving at Concordia. We are proud of her efforts and athleticism," says Coach Edge.
