STUNT wins two on Senior Day

(Ann Arbor, MI) In the final home match of the STUNT season the team takes home double wins vs Heidelberg and Olivet.

In game one, Concordia had a 5-0 shut-out versus Heidelberg. The Cards did not earn their first point until the second quarter. "We had small execution errors and were hoping for more points to fall our way earlier in the contest", says coach Kate Edge. "But we were glad to see that change a bit as the contest went on."

Power Players for this match were Xiomara Thurmond, Lillyana Macie, and Jenna Story

Seniors Kimberly Fox, Isabella Gambino, Reegan Potter, Samantha Kohls and Savannah Gridley were honored before the start of the second game. "These seniors were some of our core athletes they helped to build up this stunt program. It was nice to get a double win for them at home," reflects Edge.

The second game was a Lady Cards 11-4 win in a rematch verse Olivet. "They had gotten a close win last week and I know our team was focused on earning points with each round, when both teams on the mat," says Edge. "We got stronger and cleaner with each quarter." The Cardinals earned 5 of their total 11 points in the fourth quarter.

Once again, Xiomara Thurmond takes the top Power Player for this match. "Xi has been able to continue to be a strong tumbler and base for us. Because of her coachability and work on execution and consistency she continues to earn her spot in routines and those routines score points," says Edge.

Stunt will play their final regular season games with a tournament at Ashland on April 6, 2024.
