Hock second, Cardinals fourth at Cornerstone Invite

(Grandville, MI) The Concordia women's bowling team traveled to Grandville, MI to compete at the Cornerstone Invitational on Saturday, October 16. Throughout the tournament the team saw solid results as they ended up finishing fourth out of 15 total teams as they bowled a total of 6328 pins.

 

The Cardinals would place two bowlers in the top five of the invite with Alyvia Hock and Gabriella VanHorn placing second and fifth respectively. Hock had a high of 202 and knocked down a total of 943 pins. WhileVanHorn totaled 919 pins and a high of 201. 

 

Shannon Geiger was also a top-10 finisher for the Cards as she knocked out a total of 881 pins which was good enough for a ninth-place finish. Arielle Oakley (783) and Isabell Cooley (743) were the final two scorers for Concordia.

 

Overall Spring Arbor won the event knocking out a total of 6459 pins which was 40 pins better than second place Madonna. Individual winner went to Rachel Kuczajda from Alma College as she edged out Alyvia Hock by 53 total pins. 

 

The Cardinals will head back to the lanes on October 30 as they travel for a two-day event at the American Heartland tournament.
