Women's Hockey taken down by Adrian at home

(Canton, MI) Concordia Women's Hockey returned home Friday evening for a CCWHA matchup against Adrian. The Bulldogs came out strong, ultimately winning the game 8-0. Eva Kingston stopped 45 shots between the pipes, while Sara Kaczmarek and Makayla Steinmetz led the Cardinals with 3 shots each.

The Cardinals were able to kill a pair of penalties in the first, but weren't able to score on their only power play chance of the period. It was the Bulldogs who drew first blood on a breakaway a little over 7 minutes into the game to take the one goal advantage into the first intermission.

The Bulldog offense exploded for four goals in the second period, converting both of their power play opportunities in the period. The Bulldogs also killed a pair of penalties to keep their lead at 5 with one period left to play.

Adrian tacked on another two goals to start off the third period to increase their lead to 7. In the final two minutes of play, Concordia had a power play, and pulled their goalie, but Adrian was able to score on the empty net to win the game 8-0.

The Cardinals will be back on the ice when they are at Adrian on Saturday, October 21st. Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM at the Arrington Ice Arena.
