Women's Hockey's late surge comes up short at Adrian

(Adrian, MI) Concordia Women's Hockey traveled to Adrian Saturday evening for a CCWHA showdown against the Bulldogs. Adrian came out strong, scoring the first five goals, but Concordia made a late push which ultimately fell short in the 6-3 loss.

Adrian scored the first two goals of the game in the first period, with one of the goals coming in a short handed situation. The Bulldogs then proceeded to tack on another three goals in the second period to go up by five.

Sienna Basile netted Concordia's first goal of the game three minutes into the final period on a power play chance. Within the next four minutes, Makayla Steinmetz and Emma Shore both scored for Concordia, cutting the lead down to two. Adrian scored an insurance goal later in the third to maintain their three goal lead, which is where the game would finish.

Next up for the Cardinals will be a home contest against Michigan State on Friday, October 27th. Puck drop is set for 8:30 PM at the Arctic Edge.
