Women's Hockey downed at Indiana Tech

(Fort Wayne, IN) – Concordia women's hockey wrapped up a weekend series by traveling to #9 Indiana Tech on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals took game one at home on Friday night, but the Warriors claimed an 11-1 win in the rematch.

 

Rose Lennon started in goal, making 13 saves in over a period and a half. Sydney Orkisz won the opening faceoff of the game. Indiana Tech started strong on offense, recording three unanswered goals in the first period. CUAA trailed 3-0 after one period of play.

Indiana Tech added two more goals in the second period. Eva Kingston came in to tend the net for the remainder of the game, recording 15 saves. The Cardinals broke the shutout when Mallory Collins found the back of the net with assists going to Tiffany Jentz and Emma Shore. Eva Kingston made 6 saves in the last 3 minutes of play and CUAA trailed 6-1 at intermission.

Mallory Collins won the opening faceoff of the third period. However, Indiana Tech continued to extend their lead with five more goals. CUAA fell 11-1 as time expired.

 

Concordia will rest up until the new year when they host Grand Valley State on Friday, January 12 at 5:30pm.
