Women's Hockey downed at Massachusetts

(Hadley, MA) Concordia Women's Hockey returned to the ice for the back half of their series at Massachusetts Saturday morning. After a come from behind win the night before, the Cardinals were unable to mount a comeback on Saturday, falling 5-1.

 

Rose Lennon started the first 45 minutes in goal, saving 29 shots. Eva Kingston came in and closed out the final 15 minutes of the game, recording 4 saves and allowing no goals. The Minutewomen opened up the scoring with a shorthanded goal halfway into the first period. Towards the end of the period they doubles their lead with a power play goal.

 

Massachusetts added a third goal by way of a power play in the second period. Emma Shore and the Cardinals responded back with a goal 23 seconds later.

 

The Cardinals killed several more power plays for the rest of the game, but Massachusetts was still able to net two more goals at even strength to win 5-1.

 

Concordia will wrap up their season with a game at Rhode Island on Sunday, February 17th.
