Women's Lacrosse takes down Tennessee Wesleyan, 14-9

(Athens, TN) - Concordia women's lacrosse traveled to Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals jumped out to a quick start and picked up a 14-9 win.

 

Michaela Ullery played a complete game in net with one save. McKenna VanZant opened scoring on a free position shot. Madisyn Fox added her own free position marker and VanZant recorded her second goal with Brynn O'Neil assisting. Madleine Turcotte notched a pair of goals and CUAA led 5-1 after the first quarter.

McKenna VanZant and Madleine Turcotte completed their hat tricks in the second quarter. Alicia Gutierrez tacked on an unassisted marker. CUAA held an 8-4 lead at halftime.

Brynn O'Neil found the back of the net in the third quarter. Madisyn Fox scored her second goal on the power play and Isabella Komarowski converted with Brynn O'Neil assisting. CUAA held an 11-5 lead after the third quarter.

Tara Drinane opened the fourth quarter with a power play goal. Isabella Komarowski finished her hat trick as the Cardinals held off a late rally by TWU. CUAA claimed a 14-9 win as time expired.

 

Concordia will remain on the road at Georgetown this Monday at 3pm.
