Women’s Lacrosse falls in test against #5 Keiser

(Ann Arbor, MI) - Concordia women's lacrosse hosted #5 Keiser on a chilly snowy Monday afternoon. The Cardinals pushed the Seahawks as they looked to pull the upset, but Keiser eventually pulled away for an 18-12 win. 

 
Michaela Ullery played a complete game in net with 12 saves.  Keiser scored first but the Cardinals responded with an unassisted goal by McKenna VanZant.  Isabella Komarowski notched a go-ahead goal with Madeline Turcotte assisting.  The teams continued to trade markers with Tara Drinane connecting off a feed from Komarowski.  Madeline Turcotte notched two straight goals and Isabella Komarowski tallied on the power play to give CUAA a 6-3 lead after the first quarter.  

Keiser controlled the pace of play in the second quarter, outshooting the Cardinals 15-4 and scoring 5 goals. CUAA trailed 8-6 at halftime.  
 
Keiser added 2 more goals to start the third quarter, but Tara Drinane ended their run with a power play marker assisted by Madeline Turcotte.  McKenna VanZant recorded her second goal and Isabella Komarowski connected on the power play with a solid pass from Madeline Turcotte.  Brynn O'Neil added a power play goal and Michaela Ullery made a key save in the final seconds.  CUAA trailed 13-10 after the third quarter. 

The Seahawks scored 4 goals in the fourth quarter to rebuild their lead.  Isabella Komarowski recorded her fourth goal of the game and Madeline Turcotte completed her hat trick in the final minute.  CUAA fell 18-12 as time expired.  
 
Concordia will host Bethel this Thursday at 3pm.
