Women's Lacrosse falls in battle with #7 Indiana Tech

(Ann Arbor, MI) - Concordia women's lacrosse hosted #7 Indiana Tech on Saturday afternoon in WHAC play. The Cardinals started strong but the Warriors rallied for a 13-10 win.

 

Michaela Ullery played a complete game in goal with 13 saves. Tara Drinane opened scoring off an assist from Isabella Komarowski. Brynn O'Neil tacked on a goal less than 30 seconds later and Drinane netted her second marker of the game. Isabella Komarowski scored on the power play to extend the lead. CUAA led 4-1 after the first quarter.

Indiana Tech stormed back with seven goals in the second quarter. CUAA trailed 8-4 at halftime.

 

Isabella Komarowski ended the Indiana Tech run with her second goal on a free position shot. Madisyn Fox scored on a quick shot later in the quarter. Madeline Turcotte found the back of the net off a feed from McKenna VanZant and CUAA trimmed the deficit to 9-7 after the third quarter.

Indiana Tech scored two goals early in the fourth quarter. McKenna VanZant countered with an unassisted goal when she ran through the defense and scored. Cecelia Gibson added a power play goal later by banking the ball off the turf and into the net. Isabella Komarowski finished her hat trick with Gibson assisting. However, Indiana Tech held on to win 13-10.

 

Concordia will host #3 Lawrence Tech this Wednesday March 27th at 4pm.
