Women's Soccer falls to UNOH in WHAC Quarterfinals

(Lima, OH) – Concordia women's soccer competed in the WHAC Tournament Quarterfinals on Wednesday afternoon when they traveled to UNOH.  The Cardinals came in as the #6 seed while the Racers checked in at #3.  CUAA kept the contest close in the first half, but UNOH pulled away in the second half for a 4-0 win.

Anna Roman started in goal for Concordia, recording 4 saves.  The game began as a defensive contest, but UNOH struck first with a goal in the 15th minute.  Anna Roman made multiple saves to keep the game close and Isabel Stropich fired multiple shots that were just wide of the net.  The Cardinals had a late opportunity when Megan Starkey drew and then took a corner kick, but the score remained 1-0 at halftime.

Isabel Stropich took a corner kick to start the 2nd half as the Cardinals looked to attack.  Hannah Smigielski and Stropich registered shots on goal and Anna Roman made a tremendous diving save in the 66th minute.  However, the Racers eventually found success on offense with three more goals in the half.  UNOH claimed the win by a score of 4-0 as time expired.
