Women's Tennis picks up clean sweep of Olivet

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Concordia Cardinals Women's Tennis team came home for their first match of the 2022-23 season as they went up against the Comets of Olivet College. The Cardinals would see great success throughout the match as they would give up a total of five games over both doubles and singles matches. 

 

Concordia 7, Olivet 0

 

The singles matches saw Elle Fritcha, Anna Leeper and Payton Woodruff all come away with 6-0 wins in both of their matches. Hollie Johnson and Jadyn Hackmann both gave up one game in their first set of the match. Jada Guinn would come away in the #5 singles with a 6-1 and 6-2 win. 

 

Heading into the doubles matches the duos of Elle Fritcha, Hollie Johnson and Anna Leeper and Jadyn Hackmann would both come away from their matches with 6-0 wins. The final match of the afternoon saw a forfeit win for the Cardinals as Payton Woodruff and Jorja Vartoogian did not end up playing their matchup. 

 

The Cards will have a doubleheader this weekend as they travel to the west side of the state on Friday for a match against Calvin, while Saturday will feature a match against Albion.
