Women's Tennis comes up short at Lourdes 5-2

(Maumee, OH) Concordia Women's Tennis continued conference play with a match at Lourdes Saturday evening. The Cardinals won a pair of singles matches, but dropped the other points to the Gray Wolves, falling 5-2.

 

It was a hard fought battle in doubles action for the point, which Lourdes ultimately came away with. Jadyn Hackman and Hollie Johnson won the #3 match 6-2 while Jacey Powell and Amelia Black fell in the #2 slot. It ultimately came down to the top doubles match which we down to the wire. Elle Fritcha and Isabella Macquet came close, but went down 7-6 (7-5) in the match.

 

Hollie Johnson and Jacey Powell won their #5 and #6 Singles matches in two sets. Isabella Macquet forced the top Singles match into a third set and then even a tie breaker, but came up just short. In #2 Singles Elle Fritcha forced both of her sets into tie breakers, but dropped both narrowly. Jules Meads and Savannah Borrego both fell in the #3 and #4 matches, but were able to take 7 and 5 games respectively.

 

The Cards will stay in WHAC play when they travel down to Indiana Tech on Friday, March 22nd for their next match.
