Kayla Peters named to NAIA Honorable Mention Team

(Kansas City, MO) - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced their 2021 Volleyball All-Americans and Concordia's Kayla Peters was named to the Honorable Mention list. 

 

Peters, a sophomore from Monroe, MI, ended the season leading the Cardinals in offense this season. Peters was the team leader in kills with 411 while also being 36th in the NAIA and in total points with 453 which was 46th in the NAIA. She was also among the team leaders in digs and blocks with 372 and 40 respectively. 

 

Peters has been awarded a slew of honors this postseason with also being named to the CoSIDA All-District team, the WHAC First team, AVCA All-Region team, and the NCCAA All-Region team. She also garnered WHAC Attacker of the Week once this season. 

 

Peters is the first NAIA All-American selection in program history.

 

Cardinal Head Coach Danielle Cook had this to say about Kayla. "Kayla is a driven player that takes the time to do the work on and off the court, and it's great to see that recognized through all of the accolades she has received. Her commitment and leadership to this team has helped the program tremendously these past two seasons. We are excited to see her build off of these accomplishments in the seasons to come."
