(Fort Wayne, IN) – Concordia volleyball began WHAC conference play when they traveled to Indiana Tech on Wednesday night.  The Cardinals came in 4-7 overall while the Warriors entered a perfect 13-0.  CUAA battled hard in every set, but Indiana Tech came away with the 3-0 sweep. 

Claudia Grepke led the Cardinals with 10 kills.  Abigail Austin had a team-high 11 assists.  McKenzie Peters led the defense with 10 digs. 

 

Set 1 – IIT 25, CUAA 14 

Abigail Austin had the first Concordia kill.  Kayla Peters notched an early well-placed kill on the back line along with an ace.  Abigail Austin tied the match 11-11 with a kill, but Indiana Tech used a 14-3 run to close the set. 

 

Set 2 – IIT 25, CUAA 19 

Kayla Peters had the first Cardinal kill in set 2.  Concordia went up 7-5 after Hannah Duchene recorded a service ace.  The set was tied 12-12 near the midway point, but Indiana Tech started to pull ahead after that.  Claudia Grepke hammered two late kills and Jessalyn Peavyhouse made a block, but the Warriors took set two 25-19. 

 

Set 3 – IIT 25, CUAA 13 

Claudia Grepke started set 3 with two straight kills.  Kayla Peters and Tara Drinane made kills early on, but the Warriors once again started to take the lead.  Claudia Grepke made a late kill but Indiana Tech closed set 3 with a 25-13 win. 

 

Concordia will hold their home opener this Friday, September 16 when they host UNOH at 7pm.
