Men's Basketball falls at Lourdes in WHAC quarterfinal
 
 

(Sylvania, OH) – #7-seeded Concordia men's basketball traveled to #2 Lourdes on Thursday evening for a WHAC quarterfinal match.  The Cardinals found themselves up against a tough opponent and fell 107-66. 

Zac Clark led the team with 14 points.  Kip French was second with 11 points.  Matt Lockhart had a team-high 7 rebounds along with 7 points. 

 

Matt Lockhart opened scoring with a 3-pointer.  Colton Ritsema hit a mid-range jumper and Zac Clark scored inside for an early 7-4 lead.  Lourdes rallied to reclaim the lead, but Clark and Zackary Johnson scored layups along with a pull-up jumper from Kip French. 

After trailing 26-13, CUAA made an 8-0 run starting with a 3-pointer from Kip FrenchJayden Priddy finished the run with a layup and a deep triple.  Zac Clark added a pair of baskets, but Lourdes extended their lead as the half went on.  Kip French had two 3-pointers and Nate Brighton made a jumper, but CUAA trailed 55-33 at halftime. 

 

Colton Ritsema hit two jumpers early in the second half.  Zac Clark and Ritsema were able to score inside with Devyn Jones knocking down a jumpshot as well.  Jayden Priddy had a drive and Zackary Johnson hit a triple.  CUAA trailed 77-52 at the midway point. 

Zackary Johnson added another 3-pointer and Matt Lockhart scored in transition.  Henry Knapp nailed a triple and a jumper down the stretch.  Matt Lockhart threw down a dunk and Zac Clark drained two free throws in the final minute.  Lourdes claimed the 107-66 win as time expired.
