Men's Track & Field Survives Challenging Tiffin Carnival to Earn 6 Personal Records

(Tiffin, OH) - The Men's track and field team traveled to Tiffin, Ohio, to compete on Friday, April 12, and Saturday, April 13, at the Tiffin Track Carnival, hosted by Tiffin University and Heidelberg University. The team dealt with multiple challenges but persevered and obtained six personal records.

Most of the athletes competed on Friday, in rainy and windy conditions. Through those conditions, Frank Swanson (Freshman; Canton, MI), Nikao Williams (Freshman; New Haven, MI), and Dominic Catallo (Freshman; Westland, MI) all earned personal records on the track.

Williams and Swanson each earned personal records in the 100-meter dash with 11.33 and 11.07 seconds.

Catallo earned his record in the 800-meter run by narrowly clipping his old time and finishing in 2:11.90. The only other personal record on the track came on Saturday, as Adam Fisch (Sophomore, Caro, MI) ran to a new personal best time in the 5k by finishing in 17:36.

Gerrard Noel (Freshman; Canton, MI) led the way in field events by earning personal records in shot putt and discus. Noel threw 11.42 meters in shot putt and 30.29 meters.

The team is looking forward to the Don Kleinow Invite at Siena Heights on Thursday, April 18, and Friday, April 19.
