Men's Track & Field Sprints to Personal Records at CUAA Alumni Meet

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The men's track and field team saw warm weather roll in for their home meet hosted on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27. The team came away with 10 personal best efforts at the Alumni Legacy Invite.

The warmer weather proved to be a big help to the sprinters, as they ran to six personal records. In the 100-meter dash, Franklin Swanson (Freshman; Canton, MI ) and Jamai Grinter (Freshman; ) ran to new personal best times of 10.90 and 12.02. Jacob Ramirez (Freshman; Irvine, CA) also debuted in the 100, finishing in 12.12 seconds.

Grinter also ran a personal record in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 23.96 seconds. Nikao Williams (Freshman; New Haven, MI) also had a personal record in the 200, finishing in 22.82 seconds.

Elijah Boye (Sophomore; Westland, MI) finished in sixth place in the 400 hurdles after running a new personal record time of 1:00. Zak Schroeder (Sophomore; Napoleon, OH) returned to the track this spring to run a new personal record time in the 400 dash with a time of 53.45.

In mid-distance events, Dominic Catallo (Freshman; Westland, MI) ran a new personal record time of 2:07 in the 800-meter dash. Dylan Ladmirault (Sophomore; Port Huron, MI) also earned a new personal record time with a finish time 2:27.

Jesse Leitzow (Freshman; St. Clair Shores, MI) throws two personal records on the day in field events. His first came in the shot put, finishing in fifth with a throw of 14.28 meters. In Hammer, he claimed a top 10 spot with a distance of 39.92 meters.

The team now gears up for the WHAC Championships on Thursday, May 2 and Friday, May 3 at Indiana Tech.
