Sam Bowling wins NAIA Defensive Player of the Week

(Kansas City, KS) - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the Players of the Week for April 1-April 7 and Concordia Cardinals Sam Bowling was honored with his second career National Defensive Player of the Week. 

 

Bowling, a senior from Canton, Michigan, picked up a pair of ranked wins on the week in their two games. Bowling made a total of 24 saves throughout the two games as he collected a save percentage of 63.2%. Bowling also picked up four ground balls on the week as well. 

 

This is the third time a Cardinal Men's Lacrosse player has earned Defensive Player of the Week as Bowling and Sam Saje each won the award back in 2021. Three other Cardinals have taken home NAIA Offensive Player of the Week with Blake Blaisdell, Hunter McCarty, and Devin Wolever. 

 

The Men's Lacrosse team will be back in action this Wednesday as they will host WHAC opponent Lourdes at 4 PM.
