Women's Bowling finishes in ninth-place at the Midwest Collegiate Classic

(Milwaukee, WI) - The Women's Bowling Team participated in their second tournament of the 2022-23 season on Saturday and Sunday and came away with yet another top-10 finish, as they ended the tournament in ninth place knocking down a total of 8478 pins. After the ninth-place finish, the Cardinals would miss out on getting into the bracket play by less than 100 pins. 

 

The event featured a full field of mainly NAIA teams as a total of 35 teams competed. 

 

The Cardinals were paced by Alyvia Hock who finished in 10th place after averaging 203 pins over the six-game series. Gabriella Van Horn was the next top finisher for the Cardinals on the weekend after posting a score of 1158 and averaging 193 pins. Coming in 42nd place was Shannon Geiger with 1137 pins.

 

The final Cardinal bowler to bowl all six games was Isabell Cooley after hitting 1115 total pins on the tournament. The fifth spot on the team was split up by Emilee Hughes and Kyla Peterson who both would end up knocking over 518 pins over their three games played. 

 

Saint Francis (IL) came away with the title for the tournament, winning by over 100 pins over second place Coe College. The individual champion would wind up coming from Coe as Michaela Beckmann knocked over a total of 1322 pins over the six-game series for an average of 220.33 pins. 

 

The Cardinals are back in action as they open the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference season next Saturday, October 8th with the first WHAC Jamboree of the season at the 5 Star Lanes in Sterling Heights, Michigan, with the event being hosted by Lawrence Tech.
