Women's Bowling places third at Scotty Classic

(Toledo, OH) - The Cardinal Women's Bowling team returned to action this week as they took part in the Alma Scotty Classic. The team overall would finish in third place behind Alma and Madonna as they would knock over a total of 6431 pins, throughout 4 individual games and multiple baker games. 

 

CARDINALS RESULTS

Emilee Hughes would be the top finisher for the varsity team with an 18th-place finish after totaling a score of 736 and a high of 215. Gabriella VanHorn finished the day in 32nd place after a total of 700 pins. The third finisher for the Cardinals was Isabell Cooley with a total score of 656 over the four games. 

 

Bowling in three games was Alyvia Hock as she totaled a score of 479, with an average of 159.7. Kyla Peterson and Amanda Fisher would both go two games for the Cards with scores of 374 (187) and 308 (154) respectively. 

 

JV RESULTS

Among JV teams at the tournament, the Cardinals would finish 2nd of 5. Emily Morris was the top finisher with a score of 742 which was good for 15th place overall. Kara Ward finished the tournament after knocking down 684 pins. Arielle Oakley and Bailey Tomlin were the next two finishers for the team after knocking down 675 and 667 pins respectively. The final bowler for the team was Ashley Kreger hitting 643 pins. 

 

TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL WINNER

The individual winner was Kassidy Alexander from Spring Arbor with a total score of 814, which was 10 pins better than second place. 

 

The team champion was the host Alma College with a total score of 6,774 pins. 

 

UP NEXT

The team will head to Indiana this upcoming weekend as they will take part in the Hoosier Classic on Saturday and Sunday, February 18 and 19. The competition will take place at the Western Bowl in Indianapolis, Indiana.
