Rachel Palmer is a name that many former students and players are familiar with. A coach and teacher for 24 years at CUAA, Palmer was instrumental in gaining Title IX rights for female athletes at Concordia.
Palmer was the first graduate of Concordia to join the faculty. While on staff, she wore a number of hats throughout her Concordia years where she was a Residence Counselor, Intramural Director, Athletic Trainer, Assistant Athletic Director, a Department Chair, as well as coaching volleyball for 23 years, softball for 22 years, and basketball for 13 years. She also began the summer girls basketball and volleyball camps at Concordia.
Palmer’s commitment to Concordia went above and beyond the call of duty, putting in countless hours of personal time and effort to improve the conditions of women’s sports here at Concordia.
