The 2024 season will be McGuire's 6th season as the head coach of the men's lacrosse program. 

 

The 2023 season saw new heights for the program all around. The team played in their first NAIA Men's Lacrosse National Invitational before falling to Cumberlands in the quarterfinals. The season saw the Cardinals go 15-3 overall and 8-0 in WHAC Regular season play, which earned the Cardinals their first-ever WHAC title for Men's Lacrosse. McGuire earned WHAC Coach of the Year honors this season as well. The Cardinals earned their first NAIA All-American this season as well. 

 

He led the team to a school record in wins and their first appearance in the NAIA Top 10 Rankings in history during the 2021 season. Concordia would finish the season 8-3 and earn its first-ever bid to the NAIA Men's Lacrosse National Invitational, before having to withdraw due to COVID-19. Three Cardinals would earn All-Conference recognition from the WHAC, including 1st Team member Hunter McCarty, who was also named Newcomer of the Year.

 

Ty McGuire took over as the program’s second head coach in September of 2018. He spent the previous three seasons at Kalamazoo College as both offensive and defensive coordinator.

 

At Kalamazoo College he helped develop the program’s first All-Conference player in 2018 (Zach Morales).

 

Prior to Kalamazoo College, Ty spent 6 years coaching high school lacrosse. Including stops at Grand Blanc, Chelsea, Hartland, and Dexter.

 

Along with coaching high school and college, Ty has served as program director and coach for Coalition Lacrosse club teams.

 

Ty is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and resides in Ann Arbor, MI. He and his wife, Melissa, have 2 children: August and Matilda.
