Dominic Santina

Santina begins his third season in charge of the cross-country program since taking over in 2022.

 

He has grown roster size while also helping athletes reach individual improvements. In the two and a half years, Santina has helped athletes earn over 190 personal best efforts. Santina has had four athletes earn individual NCCAA National Championship individual qualification marks. While also taking the Men’s Cross Country team to the NCCAA Cross Country Championships in 2023 for the first time in 21 years. He also coached Micah Bauer to the third-fastest 8k time in school history.

 

Last Fall, Santina helped Bauer and Ryan Exell become the first two Cardinals to qualify for the NAIA Marathon Classic. Both runners ended up finishing on the podium with top-eight finishes. Bauer went on to set the school record in the Marathon.

 

On the track, Santina has had four athletes earn individual NCCAA National Championship qualification marks and break three school records: men’s DMR (Indoor), Men’s 5k( Indoor), and Men’s 4 x 800 (Outdoor).  Santina has also had a combined  75 scholar-athletes at the conference and national levels.

 

Santina graduated from Rochester Christian University in 2019, where he was a four-year runner at RCU. Santina was a two-time WHAC Champions of Character honoree and was part of multiple WHAC Scholar-Athlete teams. While at RCU, Santina ran the seventh-fastest cross-country time in school history. He still holds the school record in the indoor 1000 meter at RCU.
