Ricky Yahn enters his 10th season as the Head Men's Basketball Coach and 3rd year as Assistant Athletic Director at Concordia University. He was named the 12th head men’s basketball coach on May 12, 2013. In his ten years at the helm, Yahn has climbed up to 2nd all-time in wins with 108. Coach Yahn's teams have won two CIT Championships during his time. In 2021 Yahn was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director in addition to his coaching responsibilities. As Assistant AD, Ricky coordinates the department’s compliance and eligibility for nearly 600 student-athletes, scheduling, facilities, camps, and other operation duties within the department.

Concordia has also experienced much team success under Yahn. The Cardinals’ 2014-2015 campaign was one of the most successful seasons in school history. Despite being picked to finish 9th in the pre-season poll, CUAA finished tied for 4th with a 14-8 record in the WHAC. Concordia actually held on to first place in the WHAC for over a month, including a 78-69 victory over the eventual national champions, Cornerstone. Other signature wins during the season included an 81-76 OT win over Northwestern Ohio, who finished the season ranked 22nd, and a 52-49 victory against Concordia Nebraska in the CIT championship. The Cardinals set or tied school records for: wins (18), WHAC wins (14), consecutive wins (8) and best start (12-4). Concordia also ended the regular season with the 24th best scoring defense in NAIA Division II, allowing just 67.8 points per game.

Between 2016 and 2018, CUAA set a new high for the most wins over a four year period. The 2015 class collected 60 wins over their four years in Red and White, topping the 59 wins of the 2014 class.

Prior to becoming the head coach at Concordia, Yahn was an assistant coach at Cornell University and Longwood University, both NCAA Division I schools. He also spent a season as the video coordinator at George Mason University for Jim Larranaga, the 2013 Division I National Coach of the Year. Yahn’s wide range of basketball background prepared him well to take the reins at CUAA. His previous responsibilities included off-campus recruiting, opponent scouting, player development, and team travel. He also served as the director of the basketball camp’s at Cornell.

Yahn also has professional coaching experience with the Birmingham Athletics in England where he served as a player/coach in 2008. He played professionally in both England and Buffalo, New York after a successful playing career at Wheeling Jesuit, an NCAA Division II school. A three-year starter and two-year team captain, Yahn earned first-team All-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) honors during 2006-07 when he earned Team MVP honors as well. He helped Wheeling Jesuit to a pair of NCAA Division II National Tournament appearances, along with WJU’s only WVIAC Tournament Championship in school history in 2005. Yahn finished his collegiate career as the eighth all-time leading scorer at the school with 1,467 career points. He is also WJU's career leader in made 3's.

A native of Wheeling, West Virginia, Yahn earned his bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Wheeling Jesuit University in 2007. Yahn comes from a long line of successful basketball coaches from Wheeling, WV. His high school, Wheeling Central has produced the late Skip Prosser (Former Wake Forest & Xavier Head Coach), Dino Gaudio (Former Wake Forest Head Coach), Doug Wojcik (Former College of Charleston Head Coach) and Dave Wojcik (Head Coach, San Jose St) as well as several other Division I assistant coaches.
