Women's Track and Field's Stefanski and Clausen hit NCCAA qualifying mark at Hillsdale Wide Track Classic

(Hillsdale, MI) - The Woman's Track and Field team traveled to Hillsdale College for the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic on Saturday, January 28. The team came away with 5 personal records, 4 new collegiate marks, 2 NCCAA qualifiers, and another school record.

Lena Korte for the third week in a row broke her own school record in the weight throw with a distance of 14.45 meters. Quinn Stefanski and Elsa Clausen both had NCCAA qualifying distances with throws of 12.16 and 12.27 meters. All three of the throwers earned personal records with their distances. Morgan Jenkins finished up the group by throwing a distance of 12.28 meters.

In Shot Put, Korte finished in third place with a distance of 12.68 meters. Hailey Stasiukinas threw a personal record of 8.86 meters. Clausen also competed in the shot put and finished with a distance of 9.63 meters.

In running events, Amanda Fogo earned a personal record best time in the 3000 meters with a time of 3:08. Alison Doerr also competed in the event and finished in a time of 14:02. Both Cardinals also was part of four women who set new collegiate marks in the 800 meters. Fogo lead the way with a time of 3:03. Mary Salem was second on the team in 3:08, followed by Doerr in 3:09 and Madisyn Flamini in 3:23.

To wrap up distance events, Chloe Gunter ran the mile and finished in a time of 6:39.

In sprinting events, Hope Renfer set a new personal record in the 400 in a time of 1:11. Renfer also competed in the 60 and 200-meter dashes. She finished with times of 8.64 and 29.98 seconds. Emily Belinsky and Chloe Evans also competed in the 200. They finished in times of 28.51 and 30.62 seconds.

Belinsky also competed in the 60-meter hurdles and finished in a time of 10.18 seconds.

The Cardinals will be back in action on Saturday, February 4 when they travel to compete at Trine University.
