Women's cross country concludes fall at Midwest Cross Country Classic

The women's cross country concluded their fall competition schedule on Saturday at the Midwest Challenge. The meet was hosted by Taylor University and took place on the grounds of the campus in Upland, Ind. The women's team participated in the purple race that featured nine other NAIA schools throughout the Midwest. The Cardinals recorded a team score of 86th which placed them tied for third overall with Indiana East. Lydia Schroeder was the tie-breaker as the sixth runner placing 32nd overall.

 

Abbey Bentz paced the Cardinals with a fourth place finish overall with a time of 19:40. Gabby Porter was three spots behind (7th) posting a time of 20:13. Anna Glomski was the third finisher for the Cardinals taking 26th overall with a time of 22:14. Megan Espinoza and Elizabeth Trent finished within a second (22:43) of each other at 29th and 30th overall.  The rarely need tie-breaker scenario came into play for the Cardinals as Lydia Schroeder was the sixth finisher for the Cardinals with a time of 22:59.

 

Point Park took first place in the purple race with 44 points. Lexi Jackson from Indiana Kokomo took home the individual honors with a time of 18:15

The Cardinals will now break for the fall before gearing up for indoor season. The WHAC Cross Country Championships will take place on March 26th at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Mich.
