Men's Tennis hosts Cedarville in home opener

(Ann Arbor, MI) Concordia Men's Tennis had their home opener of the fall season Friday afternoon at the Racquet Club of Ann Arbor. The Cardinals welcomed NCAA D2 Cedarville to town, and the Yellow Jackets came away with the 7-0 win.

 

Cedarville won the Doubles point, winning all three matches, but the Cardinals were able to get at least two games out of each matchup. Benjamin King and Edward Lupas as well as Andrew Dobbs and Jordan Conn each took three games in #1 and #2 Doubles respectively. In #3 Doubles, Logan Fuller and Isaac Haley were able to take a pair of games.

 

The Yellow Jackets also swept the Singles matches, but the Cardinals were able to win a game in every set. Edward Lupas won a total of six games in his #1 Singles match, ultimately falling (6-4, 6-2). Andrew Dobbs and Jordan Conn each took four games from their Cedarville counterparts in the #2 and #4 slots. Ethan Hiltz won three games in his #6 Singles match. In #3 and #5 Singles, Benjamin King and Isaac Haley took a pair of games.

 

The Cardinals will have another home match on Friday, October 6th when they host Indiana Southeast. The match will take place at the Chippewa Club in Ypsilanti.
