Men's Track & Field continue to see improvement at the Elaine Leigh Invite

(Rochester Hills, MI) - The men's track and field team competed at Oakland University for the Elaine Leigh Invitational over the Easter weekend. The team came away with six personal record efforts and one season best.

Dawson Kolka (Freshman; Sanford, MI) threw two personal record efforts in hammer and discus. Koka led the team in discus with a throw of 38.59 meters and finished second on the team with a throw of 34.94 meters in hammer.

Ryan Reynolds (Junior; Northville, MI) also threw a new personal record with a distance of 34.11 meters in the discus. Reynolds finished in ninth place with a throw of 41.55 meters in the hammer throw.

Jesse Lietzow (Sophomore; St. Clair Shores, MI) threw a season-best distance of 13.78 meters in shot put. He also competed in the hammer throw and finished with a distance of 34.45 meters.

Scott Smith (Senior; Saginaw, MI) finished in fifth place in the javelin throw with a distance of 44.02 meters.

On the track, Hayden Prone (Sophomore; Fort Gratiot, MI) ran to a new personal record in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.30 seconds. Prone also competed in the 200 with a final time of 25.89 seconds.

Eric Breidert (Freshman; Wenatachee, WA) ran to a massive personal record effort in the 5k by cutting over 30 seconds off his time; he finished at 19:02.

Jackson Miles (Senior; Brighton, MI) sprinted to a new personal record time in the 400 with a final time of 55.15.

Dominic Catallo (Sophomore; Westland, MI) ran to a new season best, with the time of 4:28 on Friday night, returning with an 800 on Saturday. Catallo had a final time of 2:12.

The team will be back in action this weekend for the Alumni Legacy Meet hosted at Concordia Ann Arbor. The event will be a two day event, throwing and jumping events are on Friday. Then on Saturday will be senior and alumni recognition and running events.
